Mission statement for UCL Biomedical & Health Libraries
The aim of libraries serving Biomedicine & Health at UCL is to provide high quality
multidisciplinary services in support of education, research and clinical practice across UCL
and its associated NHS Trusts:
- To contribute to the high profile of biomedicine at UCL in supporting teaching and research
- To support clinical decision-making and patient care through provision of
timely information for evidence-based practice
- To provide resources and deliver services which are accessible to both UCL and NHS stakeholders
- To build on collection strengths in a regional, national and international context
Vision statement for UCL Biomedical & Health Libraries
The libraries serving Biomedicine & Health at UCL will continue to develop and deliver integrated services
to UCL and NHS partners in line with developing local, regional and national agendas:
- To identify new ways of meeting the information needs for health, social care and lifelong
learning
- To engage in collection development and resource sharing across institutions
- To aim to procure resources jointly for both the Higher Education and NHS constituencies
- To develop a proactive service providing
both a study environment and delivery of resources to the desk-top and bedside
