SOURCE at the Institute of Child Health

The SOURCE International Information Support Centre is housed in the Friends of the Children of Great Ormond Street Library at the Institute of Child Health. SOURCE is a collaborative venture of three organisations: the Centre for International Child Health (CICH), within ICH; Healthlink Worldwide, a non-governmental organisation working to strengthen information and communication on health and disability; and Handicap International, a disability and development organisation. The collection was created by a merger of the Library's existing Resource Centre with that of Healthlink Worldwide and was officially launched on 18 September 2002.

SOURCE is designed to meet the information needs of staff and students in the Centre for International Child Health, health workers, researchers, and organisations working in health, disability and development worldwide. The collection holds over 20,000 items including 400 newsletters and journals. Subjects covered include mother and child health, disability, diseases and disease control, HIV/AIDS, health education, poverty and health, primary health care, reproductive health, sexual health, and training.
