House in Purley, Surrey, described in as 'for a considerable time in the occupation of Edward Bedwell Kemble esq., by whom it has been much improved.' Formerly the home of William Tooke and then Rev. John Horne [Tooke].

A topographical history of Surrey, by E.W. Brayley assisted by J. Britton [n.d., but 1841] Vol IV p. 43. In the 1850 edition it showed West Purley as now tenanted by Edward Bedwell Kemble and Purley House as 'on this estate.'
