Landscaping by Humphry Repton for 'J [sic] Hibbert' reported to be before 1790, although Thomas Hibbert bought Chalfont c. 1791. Gazetteer compiled with John Phibbs’ in Stephen Daniels, Humphry Repton, Landscape Gardening and the Geography of Georgian England (London: Yale University Press 1999) pp. 255-269. Repton's project ovelraind earlier work for a previous owner by Capability Brown.
