His counterclaim was filed by Jacob Bernelot Moens [of Moens, Dauncy & Latham - PO Directory 1836], 117 Bishopsgate St., London, a merchant, as mortgagee by virtue of deed dated 07/02/1818 for £7503 4s 1d.

  1. Jan Adam Charbon and Pieter Anthony Charbon, merchants of Amsterdam, of the firm of Charbon en Zoon were also awarded compensation in 1863 in Surinam, where they owned Plantage Hamburg with139 enslaved people.
