Biography

Awarded the compensation with his partners in the nexus of firms around Walrond Ellis (q.v.) for two groups of enslaved people in Trinidad.

  1. It is not always clear from the announcements in the London Gazette of changes in the partnership (which operated in Glasgow, Liverpool, Trinidad and St Thomas) where Andrew Johnston was based, but he was in Glasgow in 1845 when he signed an announcement of a change in composition of the partnership.
