Biography

Barbados-based partner with his brothers Howard and William in John Heyes & Co. (q.v.) of Liverpool. His son James Bovell (1819-1880) has an entry in the Canadian Dictionary of National Biography (which describes John as a banker) as physician, theologian, Church of England clergyman and educator.

  1. Letters of administration for the estate of John Bovell Esq., late of the parish of St Michael, who died 13/01/1859 in Barbados, were granted 26/06/1860, effects under £3000.
