London merchant, executor of John Adams Wood (the 'owner' of Mary Prince) and electoral polemicist on behalf of the Codrington family, for whom he acted as consignee. Also counterclaimed unsuccessfully for Old Road estate in Antigua as a judgement creditor.

  1. Joseph Liggins of Addison Road Kensington aged 68 was buried at Kensal Green All Souls 29/06/1860; Joseph Liggins, son of William and Hannah Liggins, was baptised at St Marylebone 01/05/1792 (born Dec. 25 1791).

  2. Letters of Administration of the estate of Joseph Liggins of Homers Villa and Willoughby Bay Antigua granted 03/12/1860 to Henry Liggins of 3 Ladbrook [sic] Square the son and residuary legatee, effects under £12,000.
