Biography

Ann Trotman (1798-1887), Barbados-born daughter of Thomas Clarke Trotman and Ann Trotman née Hamilton (both q.v.) and sister of Simon Lee Trotman and Joseph Trotman (both q.v.).

  1. Living at 7 York Place in 1851, unmarried, age 50, with her mother Ann, age 75, "Annuitant", her nephew John Trotman, age 17, and two female servants. Living at 6 York Place in 1861, age 62, unmarried, occupation "Railway Departer[?] Holder", again with her mother Ann and 2 female servants.

  2. Memorial inscription in Clifton Parish Church, Bristol, west wall of the nave: “Sacred to the memory of Thomas Clark Trotman Esqr of the Island of Barbadoes who departed this life May the 7th 1826, aged 58 years. (Erected by his Widow.) Also of Ann Trotman widow of the above who departed this life Jany 24th 1874 aged 98 years. Also of Ann Trotman, their daughter, who died Augst 28th 1887, aged 89."

  3. "The Will of Ann Trotman late of 7 Meridian-place in the Parish of Clifton in the City and County of Bristol Spinster who died 28 August 1887 at 7 Meridian-place was proved at Bristol by William Clarke Trotman of 41 Canynge-road Clifton M.D. the Brother and Mary Hamilton Laing of Loscoe Cavendish-road Southsea in the County of Southampton Widow the Niece the Executors. Personal Estate £7702 17s 6d."
