He was the son of William Borradaile (1750-1831) and Ann Delapierre 1770-1818. On 4 December 1823 he married Ann Stevens Pullen. Their children were: Jane (1826-), Emma (1829-), Grace (1830-), Thomas (1832-), Frances (1835-). All were born, like their father, in the parish of St Gabriel, Fenchurch, London.
At some point in the 1840s they moved from St Gabriel, Fenchurch to 7 Park Place, Dulwich, Camberwell, Surrey.
