Biography

Patrick Cruikshank of Glenskinno, Angus. Son of James Cruikshank (q.v.) of Langley Park in Forfarshire, and London West India merchant.

  1. Will of James Cruikshank late of Langley Park Forfar who died 04/01/1830 proved by Patrick Cruikshank of Ealing the son surviving executor 04/05/1872 [!] (effects in England under £300); also will of Patrick Cruikshank who died 08/01/1797 proved by Patrick Cruikshank the nephew (effects again under £300).

  2. Married Charlotte M. Purrier 16/2/1832 at Westminster. In 1861, a 'West India and General Agent', Cruikshank (aged 61 born Scotland) was living at 17 Gloucester Gardens with Charlotte aged 54 with children Charlotte (27), Richmond James (26) 'Civil Service Commission', Elizabeth (21); Amy Wilhelimina (18), and Henry Charles Bleeker (15), together with their niece Ada Margaret Purrier (born in the East Indies).

  3. The death of Patrick Cruikshank was registered at Brentford Q4 1875. There is no sign of him in the National Probate Calendar.
