Biography

London merchant, partner with his nephew Crawford Davison the elder (q.v.), and MP for Mitchell 1799-1802.

  1. Will of John Simpson of Warnford Court merchant trading under the name Simpson and Weirson [sic: given the rest of this will this must be an error for Davison] at present at my dwelling house on Stamford Hill proved 22/06/1803. Under the will he left his wife Eleanor an annuity of £400 p.a.. He identified his sister as Margaret Davison, widow of Thomas Davison, and spoke about his nephew as his partner: Crawford Davison 'my partner' was among the executors.
