Biography

Father of Anthony Morris Storer and grandfather of Anthony Gilbert Storer (q.v.).

  1. Son of Anthony Storer (1675-1719) and his wife Elizabeth Anna Maria, daughter of Colonel Sir Christopher Morris (an officer in the British army who settled in Jamaica in the 1650s or 1660s).

  2. Thomas Storer was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 75 acres of land in St Catherine, 355 acres in St Andrew, 1558 acres in Westmoreland and 63 acres in St Elizabeth, total 2051 acres.

  3. Will of Thomas Storer formerly of the island of Jamaica but now of Golden Square St James proved 17/08/1793. He left his estates in Jamaica to his eldest son Anthony Morris Storer [although the Frome estate appears to have been transferred to Anthony Morris Storer 20 years earlier], £3000 in trust for his daughter Helen Campbell and £2000 to his son Thomas James Storer [who predeceased him]. He released his grandson Andrew Gregory Johnston from his [Johnston's] indebtedness.
