Bristol merchant and partner with Walter Cruifurd Bernard (q.v.), awarded as partners the compensation as mortgagees-in-possession of the Sunderland estate in St James and for a group of enslaved people in St Elizabeth Jamaica. Probably son of Charles Edward Bernard MD (q.v.) and Barbara Fogo,

  1. In 1851 Charles E Barnard [sic] widower West India merchant aged 45 was living alone in Clifton (in either Carlton Place or The Mall).
