Biography

Resident slave-owner on St Vincent, although given as of Manchester Street, Manchester Square in the will of his mother-in-law Mary Selby Gurley, proved in 1819. His third daughter Margaret married Major-General Caledon Richard Egerton: the couple's son Sir Charles Comyn Egerton (1848-1921) is in the ODNB as 'army officer.'

Life-dates are from David Dobson, American Vital Records from the Gentleman's Magazine, 1731-1868 p. 71, which shows him born on Rabaco [sic] in 1772 and dying on St Vincent in 1853.
