Biography

Counterclaimed apparently unsuccessfully for the compensation for the Streatham estate on Montserrat as annuitant and residuary legatee of her husband Michael Joseph Semper. The compensation was nominally awarded to the executors of Dudley Semper, but appears to have been subject to mercantile interception by Thomas & John Daniel & Co.

  1. Semper, Michael Joseph married 'Porter, Harriot Walsh' at Cheltenham 1810. Will of Michael Joseph Semper of Cheltenham Gloucestershire proved 29/02/1828. In 1851 Harriet [sic] Semper widow aged 62 'fund holder' born nr Liege was living at 14 Grove Road St John's Wood with two servants. In 1871 Harriett Semper was still living at 14 Grove Road, aged 81, 'dividends and house property', born Germany, with two servants. Will of Harriet [sic] Semper of 14 Grove Road St John's Wood who died 14/10/1873 proved 12/11/1873, effects under £16000.
