Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

London merchant, claimed apparently unsuccessfully with Mary Napier of Pratt Place Camden for 4/12ths of the compensation for the enslaved people on Heart's Ease in Manchester Jamaica on behalf of his daughter Susanna (q.v.), as a descendent of George Napier.

Probably John Napier, son of George Napier by [blank] "a mulatto" born 09/05/1767 and baptised 06/09/1767 in Clarendon. His brother George and sister Susanna were baptised in Clarendon 27/12/1772. It's not clear why John's daughter would have had a claim in the estate. John was bequeathed £2,000 Jamaican currency in the will of his father.

John Napier of 23 Cullum Street was buried at St Giles Fenchurch Street, 19/04/1838 aged 71.
