Notes

Descendants of John Cave wielded political, military and economic power in eighteenth-century New Zealand. Their youngest son William Cave married firstly Mary Ann Brooke (1801-1848) and they had ten children including: Isabella Anne Cave (1828-1857) (who married James Disraeli, brother of British PM Benjamin Disraeli); Mary Elizabeth Cave (1830-1871) (who married Fulbert Archer, a business partner in Miles Kington and Co, see https://www.ucl.ac.uk/lbs/imperial/view/1837776351), Olivia Caroline Cave (1834-1870) (who married Edward Peach William Miles, son of Philip John Miles, q.v.), Edward Astley Cave (1838-1857) (he died in Melbourne Australia, presumably when he and other business partners were setting up and operating the merchant house of Miles Kington and Co).
