John Chambers (1793-1865) had numerous family connections to the EIC. His elder brother Charles died EICS in 1815; his sister Jane Mary married John W. Patton, Captain in the EICS, in 1816; his other sister Isabella married General Mossom Boyd of the Bengal Army in January 1815; his eldest son Brooke Rynd was "of the Bengal Staff Corps" when he married Mary Caroline McLeod in 1863.
