Notes

Friendship and Greenwich were originally two separate estates but by 1800 they had become one. Higman notes that Kirkwood's plan of 1784 showed separate work complexes . Robertson's map of 1804 indicated there were watermills for both Friendship and Greenwich. In 1784 the cane field s stood at 535 acres. In 1784 the estates produced 214 hogsheads and 3 tierces of sugar most of which was consigned to the London agents Stephen and Rose Fuller. The rum was sold entirely within the local market. By the time of emancipation the estate's productivity was in decline although logwood sales provided a minor source of income. By 1874 the estate was badly in debt.

The estate is depicted in images by J. B. Kidd of Westmoreland. The estate is also described in Joseph Sturge and Thomas Harvey's account of the West Indies in 1837.
