John Anthony Rucker of West Hill was party to a deed of 21 and 22/06/1798 concerning security for moneys originally advanced to George Dalzell in 1793. EAP Deed Book 1799 pp. 457 et seq. The assignees of the successor Rucker firm pursued compensation as the mortgagees of the enslaved people on the estate in the 1830s.
