On his death, Briscoe left £1,000 to a number of hospitals: Victoria Hospital, Surrey County Hospital, Surrey Dispensary, King's College Hospital, London Fever Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, St. Mark's Hospital, and Cancer Hospital; and £500 to each of the Middlesex Hospital, the Consumption Hospital at Brompton, the Convalescent Hospital at Weybridge, the City Orthopaedic Hospital, and the Hospital for Sick Children: British Medical Journal, 15 October 1870
