T71/885: claim by Simon Fraser, as owner. Multiple counterclaims from e.g.: John Crosthwaite, under 2 judgements, dated 22/01/1833, for £3047 9s 8d; Robert Semple & co., under a judgement for £405 10s 6d, an account for bill of exchange for £219 18s 4d, and an account current for £210 3s 10d; A. Bertoccini, of Venice, by Robert Semple & co., under a judgement for £154 15s 7d. A note next to all three says 'authority to Messrs Davidson and Barkly to prosecute this counterclaim'.

T71/885, Appendix, p. 1: 'Certificate of A. Bertoccini that he has received from Messrs D&B a good and valuable consideration for the Transfer and Assignment to them of the debts and sums of money due to him by Simon Fraser'. Also Certificates from both J. Crosthwaite and R. Semple & co. (p. 3).  

T71/445 p. 83: enslaved persons were registered by Simon Fraser in 1834.

T71/1255: counterclaim from Aeneas Barkly for £7000 from 1821. Counterclaim also from Cathcart Chalmers, of Liverpool, H.J. Chalmers, of Berbice, and Ernest Leslie Melville, of Shepton Mallett (Somerset) and Eliza his wife, the three (including Eliza) being the children of Joseph Chalmers, who sold Reliance estate to Simon Fraser with a mortgage of £7400 over the unpaid balance of the purchase money.
