T71/433 p. 1951: enslaved persons were registered by George Rainy for (and possibly also signing with) Samuel Sandbach and Peter Maclagan.

John Habakkuk, Marriage, debt and the estate system (Oxford, Clarendon Press, 1994) p. 423: 'About 1833 Samuel Sandbach, Liverpool merchant and shipowner, bought the Hafodunos estate in Llangerniew [North Wales] - about 5,000 acres in 1894 - and his son rebuilt the house'.
