T71/874: claim from Edmund F. Green, of Great Britain, as owner-in-fee.

Times 03/09/1842 p. 7: shows Edmund F. Green, of Leadenhall St., a merchant, in Bankruptcy Court in Basinghall St.. The creditors were to meet assignees at 11.

Times 24/10/1842 p 7: Coroners inquest into Edmund F. Green: 'late a WI proprietor and merchant'; 'It had by some been rumoured that the deceased had taken poison, and by others that he died of a broken heart, owing to misfortune, he having lost a large fortune in merantile pursuits, and become bankrupt'. The deceased had a pension of £200 per annum and  a situation under the Mercers Company of a much larger amount, unattachable under the bankruptcy. Edmund F. Green died aged 62. The verdict was that he had died from natural causes.
