Skill Development Programme
The Graduate School offers an extensive programme – the Skills Development Programme - which is open to all graduate research students at UCL. The purpose of the programme is to give you the opportunity to expand your generic research skills and personal transferable skills. These skills are intended to help your research at UCL and also to enhance your life skills and employability. The course list covers areas such as Research Skills Programmes, IT Skills, Electronic and Archive Resources, Statistics, Communication and Presenting, Teaching Skills and many more. Courses vary in their length and can be a lunch hour seminar to weekly meetings.
Other UCL courses
Other than the Research Methodology Seminar, which is mandatory for each first year student, the Faculty and UCL offer a range of courses for graduate and graduate research students:
- Academic Legal Writing Skills: open to UCL students registered to study law at postgraduate level whose main language is not English.
- English legal methods for students from civil law jurisdictions
- sessions on the use of bibliographic, internet and electronic sources by those researching in law
