How to Apply

You can download a Pathways
application form and
guidance notes here. Please make sure you read the notes, they are there to help you. You should match all or the majority of the criteria, as indicated. The application form requires information from yourself as well as a personal statement. Your parent/guardian needs to support the application, as will your school, who must provide your predicted grades and a reference.

What are the criteria used to judge applicants?
Successful applicants to the programme will normally satisfy most, if not all, of the following criteria:
- Mostly A*, A and B grades at GCSE
- Commencing Year 12 AS studies (or equivalent) in September 2012
- Have an interest in studying law and/or pursuing law as a career
- Be the first generation to study at higher education
- Are enthusiastic and willing to commit to the programme
- Are studying at a state school within a London borough.
When are the deadlines?
The application deadline for Pathways 2012 is on Friday 28 September 2012.
A decision will be made on your application jointly by the UCL and LSE co-coordinators, and any place offered will be conditional on you achieving your predicted grades. It is hoped these places will be offered by Friday 5 October 2012. Each University will have a cohort of 75 students, meaning a joint recruitment of 150 students.
If successful you will be offered a place at either UCL or LSE. It will not be possible to express a preference. Please note UCL start date is Satuday 13 October 2012 and LSE start date is Wednesday 24 October 2012.
