Professor Alesandro Escobar is in private practice at Latham & Watkins. He practices in public international law and international arbitration. Professor Escobar was formerly Senior Counsel at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, D.C., where he handled more than a dozen of the first investor-State arbitration proceedings ever brought under bilateral investment treaties (BITs) and multilateral treaties for the protection of investment, such as the North American Free Trade Agreement. He advises on investment treaty, arbitration and international law issues.
