New Socrates Link with University of Girona, Spain
The
Faculty of Laws is currently negotiating a new Socrates link with the University
of Girona, Spain. The Director of European Exchange Programmes, Rodney Austin,
and the Deputy Director of the Institute, Dr Jörg Fedtke, visited the
Faculty of Laws at Girona and had a fruitful exchange of ideas with Miquel
Martín-Casals, Professor of Civil Law and founder of the Observatory
of Comparative Private Law at Girona, and the Dean of the Facultat de Dret,
Professor José Luis Linares Pineda. The Institute of Global Law, which
is in part responsible for the two-year academic preparation of outgoing UCL
Socrates students, is confident that the new link will provide excellent opportunities
both for student and staff exchanges and help strengthen UCL’s emerging
links with Spain.
