New Co-operation
agreement with the Institute for Competition and Commercial Law at the
University of Bonn
The agreement
is meant to promote an initiative supported by the Lord Chancellor's Department
the aim of which is to encourage a greater exchange of ideas and co-operation
between commercial judges of the European Union.
The project will
initially be co-ordinated by the Hon Mr Justice Colman, the Lord Chancellor's
Department represented by Mr Alasdair Wallace, the French Court of Cassation
represented by Conseiller Dominique Hascher, representatives of the German
Bundesgerichtshof working with Professor Klaus Hopt (one of Germany's leading
commercial lawyers and a Director of the Max Planck Institute) and Professors
Michael Bridge and Ian Fletcher on
behalf of the Institute of Global Law.
The aim of the
founding group is to organise a series of discussion conferences for commercial
court judges of EU Member States and the accession countries directed to
topics of immediate significant interest in the field of commercial law and
its administration.
