Profile
Larissa Verri Boratti joined the UCL´s Law Faculty in January 2012 as an MPhil/PhD candidate, under the supervision of Professors Jane Holder and Richard Macrory, researching Environmental Law Policy and Regulation. Larissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (2005) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law (2006) from UFRGS/Brazil, and a Master’s Degree in Law (2008) from UFSC/Brazil (funded by the Brazilian Government - CAPES).
Larissa was admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association in 2005, practiced as a lawyer (specialising in Civil Law and Environmental Law) and is an Environmental Law and Civil-Procedural Law Lecturer. She also has experience in co-ordinating Community Engagement Projects on housing rights and environmental issues (both academic and NGO projects).
Larissa´s main research interests lie in Environmental Law Policy and Regulation, in particular environmental impact assessment and urban-environmental planning. Her doctoral research is focused on the legal analysis of an assessment tool called Neighbourhood Impact Study in Brazil. It will analyse the extent to which such a tool is capable of operationalizing the principle of policy integration, thereby securing environmental justice and the promotion of environmental risk management in urban areas.
