Our Employment Law Clinic, offered in partnership with Dr. Nicola Countouris' undergraduate employment law course, focuses on rights in the workplace, with a particular emphasis on cases involving those who may have been unfairly dismissed. Our casework also addresses issues such as general workplace disputes or discrimination.
Students represent clients in Employment Tribunals with assistance and supervision from practising barristers. Work carried out by the clinic is done in partnership with the Free Representation Unit who receive their cases by referral from organisations such as Citizen’s Advice Bureaux or other local Law Centres.
Students working on these cases are trained by FRU, while receiving additional in-house training from Dr. Countouris and barristers from Old Square Chambers.
