Dr Francisco de la Peña is a specialist in the law of mergers and acquisitions. His main areas of expertise include corporate finance, merger control and regulation. He has a particular interest in the energy and financial services sectors.

Dr Francisco de la Peña holds an LLB from the University of Navarre, an LLM from the LSE and a PhD from King´s College London and is an EMBA candidate at the University of Cambridge. He is dual qualified in both England and Wales, and Madrid and has practised in Brussels, London and Paris. He serves as Commercial Director of Compañía Petrolífera de Sedano S.L.U. (Leni Gas & Oil plc) and Director of Alfaz Energy Limited. Dr Francisco de la Peña has been affiliated to UCL Laws since 2004.

Past Teaching

From 2004 through to 2008 Dr Francisco de la Peña was a Tutor and a Lecturer in Legal Aspects of International Finance, and from 2008 to 2012, he convened the Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions LLM Course.

Current Teaching

From 2013 Dr Francisco de la Peña has lectured on takeovers as part of the Corporate Finance LLM Course and on hedge fund regulation as part of the Regulation of Financial Markets LLM Course. s
