Pre-sessional English Courses

The Pre-sessional Courses are now closed. We may take further applications later if extra places become available.

Students who have already made applications will be contacted as soon as possible.

These English for Academic Purposes courses are designed for international students who are planning to study on a graduate degree programme at either University College London or at another UK institution. Many course participants will already hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on a degree programme, although a small number of students may still be in the process of applying for a place on a graduate programme. See our guide to UCL's English Language Requirements for graduate degree entry.

Students come from a wide range of academic subject areas and from a broad range of cultural and educational backgrounds. On average 90% of our Pre-sessional conditional students are successful in being accepted for an academic course of their choice.

Apart from UCL,  our graduate students go on to other UK master's programmes in London and across the UK. The Degree Progression page gives more details of our students’ destinations.
The links on the menu above will allow you to find out much more about the Pre-sessional courses at UCL, and will tell you about studying the course and also about course assessment. In addition, you can also find out about UCL student accommodation options.
