The HRA (Health Research Authority) has launched two decision tools to help researchers determine whether their project would be managed as research within the NHS and whether it would require review by an NHS Research Ethics Committee (REC).

A few places remain for research staff on the SLMS Information Governance (IG) roadshow on 30 May.

The event will focus on how the IG framework can help researchers meet their legal obligations. It is aimed at anybody handling personally identifiable data as part of their research.

Researchers must now apply to the Health Research Authority (HRA) Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG) if they intend to process personal data without seeking consent.
