Slade Interdisciplinary Printmaking Workshop

14 July 2014

Yellow paint, roller and scraper

This one-day printmaking workshop on 9 July 2014 was organised by Dr Eleanor Morgan, Slade honorary research associate, with the support of printmaking technicians Dave Christopher and James Keith.

The aim was to develop practice-based methods for encouraging collaboration across departments, and identifying cross-over areas for future research.

There were 12 participants, half of whom were artists and the other half drawn from a variety of UCL departments including Neuroscience, Zoology, Geology, Science and Technology Studies, Anthropology and Architecture.

In three groups, the participants created collaborative prints using relief, drypoint and collagraph techniques that combined elements of their individual research interests.

The project was funded by the Joint Faculty Institute of Graduate Studies (JFIGS).
