The NRN brings together UK-based research students and early-career researchers working in the field of Nordic Studies to discuss their current research. This two-day interdisciplinary conference features presentations, films screenings, roundtable discussions and workshops drawing on all subjects within the arts and humanities and all time periods from the Middle Ages to the present day. From Medieval studies to film, and runes to slang; the result is a colourful and exciting smörgåsbord of research that reflects the current trends in Nordic area studies.

The third Nordic Research Network Conference builds on the success of two previous conferences held at UCL in 2010 and the University of Edinburgh in 2012. As the only conference of its kind in the UK, NRN has played in significant role in building and supporting a community of scholars interested in Northern Europe and has proven to be an important forum for young researchers seeking to establish networks and introduce their research to a wider audience.

The conference is generously supported by FIGS.
