International Student Orientation Programme (ISOP) for Undergraduate Students – September 2017
You are an 'undergraduate student' if you are coming to study at UCL on a full-time, three or four year programme at undergraduate level.
The International Student Orientation Programme (ISOP) will take place in the week commencing Monday 18 September 2017.
During ISOP you will have the opportunity to complete your in-person enrolment, attend the 'We Are All Global' talks designed specifically for our new international students (both EU and overseas), and participate in a variety of social events organised by UCL Student Union (UCLU).
ISOP is a busy few days and you may decide you don't
want to attend all of the social events – this is your choice and,
although you are encouraged to attend, these are optional. It is however
important that you attend the 'We Are All Global' talks on
Wednesday 20 September and your enrolment appointment on Thursday 21
‘We Are All Global’ – Wednesday 20 September 2017
full day of talks, organised by the International Student Support team,
is designed to help make the transition into life in the UK and
studying at UCL as smooth as possible. There will be a number of
interactive sessions which will be scheduled throughout the whole day
and you will be able to register for these nearer the time as part of
the pre-enrolment process. The sessions are free of charge and it is highly recommended that you attend.
Enrolment – Thursday 21 September 2017 (by appointment)
for you will take place on Thursday 21 September. You will be required
to enrol in person by appointment and you will be able to select a slot
nearer the time as part of the pre-enrolment process.
Social events organised by UCL Student Union (UCLU)
social events, organised by UCLU, are the perfect opportunity to meet
other new international students and immerse yourself into life at UCL.
Social events are an optional part of ISOP, however we would encourage
you to attend at least some of these events. A full list of events will
be available on the UCLU website nearer the time.
Students on a Tier 4 visa
will need to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) before you
attend your in-person enrolment appointment. In order to collect your
BRP from UCL you should follow the instructions provided on the immigration and visas webpages.
You should ensure that you arrive at UCL with sufficient time to collect your BRP before you attend your enrolment appointment. It is recommended that you arrive at UCL at least the day before the 'We Are All Global' talks to ensure you have sufficient time to collect your BRP. You will be contacted by email with further instructions on how and where you can collect your BRP nearer the time.
Accommodation during ISOP
you are staying in UCL managed accommodation and you would like to
attend ISOP, you will need to submit an Early Arrival Request on the
accommodation portal to arrive from 16 September 2017. If you are
staying in other student halls you should follow the information
provided to request an earlier move in date if possible.
