ISOP Sessions & Events for Graduates
The International Student Orientation Programme (ISOP) will cover a range of seminars and social events which will be very interactive and will give you the opportunity to meet other new and current UCL students and ask questions.

Official Welcome to UCL - this session will begin with an official welcome from Dame Nicola Brewer, UCL Vice-Provost (International) and other senior and support staff at UCL.
Dr Paul Walker (UCL Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching) will talk to you about the customs of teaching and learning at UCL and how these may differ from the education system in your home country.
Dr Adam Liston (UCL Institute of Neurology) will draw on the experiences of a wide range of our staff and students and will help you anticipate both the strengths and challenges of student life in the UK, learn how other students have made the transition and reflect on your own experiences.
Sabbatical Officers will introduce UCLU and give you information about social events, signing up to clubs and societies and the assistance provided by UCLU if you happen to experience any difficulties during your studies.
Getting used to living in London - General Practitioners (GPs) from the UCL Health Centre will provide information on how the National Health Service (NHS) works and how to access health treatment in the UK. You will be given advice about how and when to register with a GP in the UK and how to obtain medication if you need it.
Representatives from London Metropolitan Police and Transport for London will discuss with you some of the essential aspects of safety in London, travelling around the capital and obtaining a student discount travel card.
UCL Careers will introduce their services and provide guidance on registering to attend workshops and booking one to one sessions with a Careers Consultant. The International Support team will talk to you about opening a UK bank account and you will be given information about funding options that may be available to current UCL students.
Social evens organised by UCL Student Union (UCLU)
UCLU will host a variety of social events for international students between Wednesday 17 - Friday 26 September to help you meet new people, show you popular places in London and introduce you to some of the ways people in the UK choose to socialise and relax. Events will include a Traditional British Pub Quiz, Boat Party along the River Thames, Campus Tours and more! A programme of events along will be posted on the UCLU website nearer the time. If you wish to attend any of these events, you will need to register separately and may be required to purchase a ticket.
