Cumberland Lodge 70th Commonwealth & International Student Christmas - 18 - 20 December 2017
5 October 2017
Cumberland Lodge will be hosting its 70th Commonwealth and International Student Christmas event in December. Cumberland Lodge, based in Windsor Great Park, is an educational charity which seeks to tackle social divisions by promoting creative thinking and inclusive dialogue.
This year’s event will run from Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th December 2017, starting at 16:00 on Monday and finishing at 12:00 on Wednesday.
The event has been running since 1947 and provides international students, who will be in the UK over the Christmas period, with an opportunity to experience a traditional British Christmas, to engage in a programme of thought-provoking and inspiring seminars and workshops, and to meet others who are studying away from home.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Freedom’ and, as well as the usual activities – a walk in the Great Park, optional attendance at Royal Chapel, a traditional Christmas dinner, and a festive soirée – students will hear an address from the author A.L.Kennedy, and Jessica Ball of Creating Meaning, who will encourage open discussion on this theme.
Tickets are £85, which includes shared accommodation, all meals and attendance at all sessions throughout the retreat. For more information and to register, please visit the Cumberland Lodge website.
