Before joining ISRS, Jas launched and ran a successful a firm for six years, in the emerging market for resilience. Jas delivered a range of advisory services to local Government, transnational corporations, major financial institutions, Academia, Think tanks and UK Government and Agencies. Her work involved strategy-making, cyber security, crisis management communications and testing (Inter)National Government and business operational planning, plans and business continuity for a range of eventualities including; financial disruption, failure of critical infrastructure, pandemic disease in humans or animals, supply chain disruption, severe weather events, supply chain disruption, civil nuclear accidents, COMAH emergencies using event driven scenarios.
Prior to starting her own business, Jas was a former Cabinet Office civil servant with a track record of delivering cross-departmental projects and policy in Government. The last three years were spent working in the Civil Contingencies Secretariat (CCS) in the Cabinet Office. As one of the leaders of the UK Government’s only dedicated [crisis] testing unit she delivered a co-ordinated programme of events across Government Departments on ways to enhance resilience and preparedness. She also established a Scientific Advisory Panel for Emergency Response (SAPER) to advice Ministers and senior officials on ways to improves resilience and to complement existing mechanisms for providing advice to Government during times of crisis.
