Warning 201

Summary Cisco VPN Client fails to connect with warning message "Warning 201: The necessary VPN sub-system is not available. You can not connect to the remote VPN server"
Solution

This warning typically occurs when there is no connection to the RoamNet service:

  1. Please ensure Phase 1 & 2 of the connection instructions are complete.
  2. Disable Network Bridging (Windows XP ONLY).
  3. Temporarily disable any firewall software (e.g. F-Secure Internet Guard, Norton Internet Security, Zone Alarm, Windows XP SP2 Firewall).
