A 64-bit and 32-bit variant of the Cisco Systems VPN Client is
available. Please ensure you run the correct installer. To determine
which version you have installed select Start > Control Panel > System (Icon) *. Under the System > System type: section the bit type is displayed.
If you continue to experience the error:
- Temporarily disable any firewall software (e.g.
F-Secure Internet Guard, Norton Internet Security, Zone Alarm, McAfee)
prior to installing the Cisco VPN Client. Re-enable the firewall once
installation is complete!
- Remove all Cisco Systems VPN Adapters from previous install attempts. Select Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Centre (icon) *. Select Manage network connections from the Task pane. Identify the Cisco Systems VPN Adapter, this is typically Local Area Connection x (where x is a number) and is disabled (grayed out). If you are unsure, right-click and select Properties. The Connect using: field should be Cisco Systems VPN Adapter. Once identified, right-click on the Local Area Connection x icon and select Uninstall. Once all Cisco Systems VPN Adapters are uninstalled re-try the installation.
* If this icon is not visible, select Classic View from the
left hand pane.
