Deleting folders / subfolders with IMAP

1. To delete a folder, select the folder from your folder list. Right click on the folder name and select delete.

2. Users on IMAP may get the following error message:-

3. Click ok to the error message and go to Tools > Email Accounts > Server Settings on left hand pane > Advanced button on right hand pane and ensure you have unticked Show only subcribed folders.

4. Click OK you will need to close Thunderbird and reopen it. You should now be able to delete your folder/subfolder. If you find you get additional folders in your folder list (e.g. ftp folder ) please go back into Advanced Account Setting (screen shot above) and place the tick back into Show only subcribed folders.
