Alt Text for images

When creating an image it is vital to add a proper title, e.g. Wet Lab, Gene Cell, allowing users to place their cursor on the image and see its title.

Failing to do so is bad for 2 reasons:

  1. the image will not be indexed by Search Engines as it doesn't comply with accessibility regulations.
  2. people who use a screen-reader or switch off images in their browser will not be able to find out what the image is.

If you haven't got a so-called alt-text for your image, you can always add it at a later date.

Go to the page in question in editing mode, click on the image to reveal the information on the right-hand side, and complete the title in the tooltip.
