Disability IT Support
Inspiration and Read and Write are now available on Cluster PCs under Programs. For staff Inspiration is available in the same place but for Read and Write they will need to contact the Disability IT Support Analyst for a copy.
Two Redcat portable amplification devices have been purchased and can be used with hearing aids, radio aids and infra-red devices for people with a hearing loss. These can be borrowed by staff for events or lectures from the Teaching and Learning Area in CPS in the Kathleen Lonsdale Building first floor.
Live captioning for events. We now have an account with 121 Captioning they provide a steno writer or palantypist who streams realtime word-for-word captions over the internet to your event. All you need is internet and a microphone and a skype account. The Disability IT Support Analyst can advise on this and loan you a mic for the event.

The Disability IT Support Analyst is employed by Information Systems (Desktop Support) but works with both the Disability Centre and Occupational Health to support both staff and students at UCL who have identified that they are suffering from a disability and require support with IT. Duties of the Disability IT Support Analyst range from supporting registered disabled students and staff to individuals who have a temporary impairment which is affecting their work when using a computer such as a broken arm.
