Staff WTS

You can connect to WTS either via the web or by installing the software that will allow you to connect to WTS on your machine (called the Citrix Client).

It doesn't matter which method you use, you will still see your N: and your S: drive (if registered).

WTS 2010

  • Connect via the web (recommended - no configuration required, work on Windows and Mac platforms)

WTS 2000

  • Connect via the web (recommended - no configuration required, work on Windows and Mac platforms)

What are the differences between the two versions of WTS?

Staff WTS is the updated version of WTS 2000. As part of a roll-out programme, departments are given access to Staff WTS 2010 when they have been migrated to the live@ucl email and calendar service.

Staff WTS 2010 has Microsoft 2010 installed, but does not have the wide range of applications currently still available on Staff WTS 2000 only.

Point to note about printing when you return to work

Ensure that you set your default printer back to the printer that usually use at work.

WTS will not automatically remember which printer you had set before leaving to work remotely and will default to the 'zzzzz' queue, which does not print anywhere.
