Data Protection and Opinio
If your survey requires the respondent to enter personal data that can identify them, or your survey provides you with tracking facilities to enable you to identify an individual, then you are required to place a Data Protection disclaimer in your survey. Please use or adapt the following:
Data Protection Act 1998: The personal information that you give for this survey will only be used for the purposes of the survey and will not be transferred to an organisation outside of UCL.
The data will be transferred to the Department conducting the survey who will retain it in compliance with the UCL Records Retention Schedule. The data will also be stored by UCL Information Services for six months and will then be removed from the Opinio system.
In addition, all research involving the use of personal data must be registered with the Data Protection Officer before you can start to collect data. To register your research please complete Form 2: Research Registration Form- this form is available via the Data Protection pages link below
