Disruption to print@UCL service during July & August
5 July 2017
Please be reminded that the print@UCL service will be disrupted at certain points this week as part of UCL’s Data Centre Migration Programme. During the migration you may experience delays or difficulties in printing documents from some printers. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes, but wanted to make you aware of the disruption in advance so you can plan accordingly.
Please familiarise yourself with the work taking place next week, prepare for disruption and plan accordingly. Please be aware that not all printers will be affected at the same time. If you have any difficulty printing during these periods please try an alternative printer as it may be operational.
- 17 July, 9am-5pm
Over the course of the day each printer will be unavailable for up to 1 hour. These will be staggered throughout the day so if you experience any difficulties printing, please find an alternative machine or try again in an hour’s time.
- 19 July, 9am-5pm
You may experience delays logging into printers on this day or be able to log in but unable to see your documents in the queue. This will affect all printers at different points during the day. If you encounter any difficulties please try again in a few minutes’ time.
- 26 July, 8-9am
From this day the new print@UCL service name will be available which will be print.ucl.ac.uk. The old name print.ad.ucl.ac.uk will still be available for a period of time and further communications will define timelines for transition to the new print name.
- 8 August 9am-1pm
You will not be able to top up your print credit during this time. This will affect both cash and credit/debit card top-up. All other print functions will be operational.
If you have any questions about this work, contact the ISD Service Desk.
