The Research Publications System (RPS) will be upgraded to the latest version 4.2.1  on Tuesday 21st May 2013,   and as a result of this there will be no service available between 3pm - 5pm on that day.  We are expecting the service to be fully re-instated  by 10.00am on Wednesday 22nd May 2013.  Prior to this,  the service should be considered 'At Risk'.

The following ISD media-related services should be considered 'at risk' during the times listed below while essential maintenance is performed:

UCL Administrative Systems are mainly available via the web using an internet browser. Many of the commonly used systems require the use of Java via a browser plug-in in order to run. This is sometimes referred to as the Java Runtime Edition (JRE).

Windows 8 is the latest version of the Windows Client operating system. It was put on general release in October 2012.

Microsoft require us to migrate Live@UCL to their Office 365 offering. This is currently being planned but is unlikely to take place before July 2013.

We have had many reports about a recent influx of targeted phishing emails to UCL inboxes, in particular with 'Announcement' as the subject header and a spoofed 'from' address as 'webmaster@ucl.ac.uk'.

A small number of users have been receiving a security information prompt while using live@UCL OWA (Outlook Web Access). This prompt is a feature of the standard Microsoft service, and is used when userids and passwords are managed by Microsoft rather than the service organisation (UCL manages its own live@UCL userids and passwords). The prompt should be ignored, and you can simply click ‘save’ to access your email. 

From the 1st October 2012 SPSS will no longer support and provide codes for any version before version 18.

We advise users to start upgrading to version 18 above with the latest version being 20.
